First of all, what are green coffee beans - and how are they different from the coffee we traditionally think of?
Green coffee beans are coffee beans that have not been roasted yet. Roasting the coffee beans reduces their chlorogenic acid, which is thought to have health benefits for heart disease, weight loss, and others.
The chlorogenic acid in green coffee beans is thought to affect how the body handles blood sugar and metabolism. Elevated levels of chlorogenic acid is shown to increase metabolism and therefore drive accelerated weight loss.
The obvious question is, "should I take a green coffee bean supplement?" Whether or not you should take green coffee bean as a supplement depends a lot on your lifestyle and whether or not you're taking other supplements to help with metabolism and weight loss.
People who probably don't need to take green coffee bean supplement are those who already have a high metabolism or those who do not need to lose much, if any, weight. In addition, a GCB supplement may not help those who are already highly active and always eat an efficient diet or those who have a lifestyle that keeps them moving throughout the day.
People who might benefit from taking green coffee bean supplement include those who have a slow metabolism and need to lose some weight. In addition, a GCB supplement may help those who aren't as active as they should be or those who have a more sedentary lifestyle, such as working at a desk.
Some people have a combination of all the right things and would not benefit as much from taking a green coffee bean supplement. Genetics play a large role in metabolism - but so does diet, exercise, supplementation, and movement.
If a combination of genetics, diet, exercise, and movement is not in your favor, you might consider taking a green coffee bean supplement to give your metabolism an extra boost. However, planning fun exercise, eating healthier, and taking breaks throughout your day to move around or differently are keys to making your metabolism transformation as effective as possible.
